How do I contact you?
-
By email at jenny@jamupholstery.co.uk. When enquiring for an estimate please attach photos of your piece of furniture. You can also call Jenny on 07976 443972 where you can leave a message if Jenny is unable to answer your call.

How much will it cost?
-
The estimate for services will depend upon the work and complexity of the piece, whether it is a recover, a complete re-upholstery or something in between. We will be happy to discuss with you the work that needs to be done. A written estimate (valid for three months) will then be provided to you, with a breakdown of the work that we have agreed to undertake.
-
In the event of any unforeseen extra work being required (for example after a piece has been fully stripped back there may be additional work to fix the underlying frame) we will provide an updated estimate to include this additional work and seek your agreement before proceeding.
-
We offer a collection and delivery service for most items of furniture.

How long will it take?
-
The length of time a piece of work will take to complete is dependent on the nature of the work we have agreed to undertake. A replacement of a cover can usually be completed within a few days, whilst a larger project involving a complete reupholstering can take several weeks to complete. When you have accepted an estimate and we have agreed to undertake the work we will be able to provide an indication of when we expect to have completed the work. At busy times of the year, for example the period leading up to Christmas, additional time may be needed due to volume of work.
What fabric can be used?
-
Customers are responsible for sourcing and providing their own fabrics. The condition of the fabric, ie. faults, quality, durability, remains the responsibility of the supplier, not JAM Upholstery. We will be happy to indicate the type of fabric, and the quantity, that will be required for any piece of work. Please note that the quantity required may vary if, for example, there is a large pattern repeat.
-
Unless specifically agreed all fabrics should be of upholstery weight and a minimum width of 137cm. You may wish to consider using a fire retardant backed fabric, and we will be happy to discuss this with you.
-
Fabrics with checks/stripes or pattern repeats will take more time to complete than plain fabrics. In the event that an estimate has been provided prior to the choice of fabric, we reserve the right to amend the estimate to take account of the additional work involved.

-
The fabric should be available for us to collect at the same time as the furniture.
What are your payment terms?
-
A deposit of 50% of the estimated cost of the work is required prior to the commencement of any work. Payment can be made in cash or by cheque or bank transfer as indicated on our estimate.
-
The full outstanding balance is due within 7 days of the completion of the work, or within 7 days of the return of the furniture to you (whichever is sooner). Please note that we are unable to store furniture for any extended period of time, and would expect to return the furniture to you immediately upon completion.
-
Balances that remain outstanding after 28 days will attract a further charge of 10% of the invoice value.
